Watercolor Image Enhancement

Bremond House offers watercolor image enhancement and Giclée printing to both amateur and professional photographers. Image enhancements include brightness, contrast, color balance, burning and dodging of film or digital files. David Warner, Bremond’s photographic artist, uses his proprietary watercolor technique to add light, texture and depth to client images similar to what he does for his own limited-edition gallery prints.

Five Step Process

  • Digitize: A film negative or the original art is scanned into the computer. The best solution is a negative, slide (positive) or digital file. Scanning a print has the tendency to pick up the pattern on the paper, which is then magnified when the image is enlarged.
  • Image Correct: Once the image is transformed into a digital file, the same controls that were once used in a darkroom, i.e. cropping, dodging and burning, contrast, etc., can be used to bring the image to the highest quality possible. Scratches, imperfections and dust are also removed at this stage, as well as additional enhancements that can be made in this new 'digital' world.
  • Size Adjustments: Enlargement requires additional techniques and considerations to retain the quality and clarity of the image as the size is increased.
  • Color Proof: A proof is made of the enhanced image to determine if additional adjustments are necessary.
  • Paper selection and printing: A final print is sized and printed on selected paper. Unlike traditional printing processes, with Giclée archival printing there is no degradation from the first print to the hundredth print. Each is an original.
